Lotus Art

The sacred lotus flower is considered a symbol of transformation. The blossoms of this aquatic plant come in white, pink, red, and blue shades.

The mixed media acrylic and oil 30″x30″x1.5″ paintings on stretched canvas shown below are a collaboration between Ma Udaysree and Linda Camarata.

White Lotus in the Mist

A white lotus represents the state of spiritual perfection and total mental purity. White is the color of the Goddess Saraswati related to the arts, speech, wisdom, and purity, who sits on a white lotus.

Pink Lotus in the Mist

Pink symbolizes the supreme lotus, generally reserved for the highest deity. In India, a mala or prayer beads, made of lotus seeds is associated with the Goddess Lakshmi. As Kamala Vasini, Lakshmi resides in the lotus flower. Lakshmi is the goddess of abundance and wealth and is often shown seated on a pink lotus holding a couple of pink lotuses in her hands.

It is considered as very auspicious to own paintings adorned with lotus flowers.
